NATS Signs Deal with Saudi Air Navigation Services

NATS has this week announced the signing of a capacity contract with Saudi Air Navigation Services to enhance operations at King Khalid International Airport.

It is understood this deal was signed at the Dubai Airshow, with the UK air traffic control provider wanting to get a piece of the pie in the expansion plans the Kingdom has planned.

Commenting on the deal was Ahmed Alzahrani, the CSO of Saudi Air Navigation Services:

“SANS is committed to transform the aviation landscape and guarantee that we are at the forefront of driving innovation to shape the aviation services of tomorrow.”

“This collaboration will leverage NATS expertise and digital solutions, to unlock new possibilities in airspace management and seamless flow of air traffic in the Kingdom.”

Adding to this was Guy Adams, the Managing Director of NATS Services:

“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has ambitious plans for the future of its aviation industry. By collaborating with SANS, we can help deliver the safe and efficient capacity growth that the Kingdom is seeking.”

“We are delighted to be working together to deliver a project in Riyadh, and I am confident that our operational experience at some of the world’s busiest airports will prove invaluable.”

This deal will include a collaboration on projects regarding Air Traffic Management, with the aim of ensuring the secure expansion of air traffic in the region.

All eyes will be on how this deal performs, as well as whether there is scope to expand this further than King Khalid International Airport.
