Japan Airlines Receives 1st Airbus A350-1000

This week saw Japan Airlines receive it’s first Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, as the jet made it’s way to Tokyo from Toulouse.

Such a delivery represents another stage in the carrier’s renewal both in its fleet but also it’s onboard product as well.

The Japan Airlines Airbus A350-1000 is configured with four classes, which are as follows:

  • Six First Class Suites.
  • 54 Business Class seats.
  • 24 Premium Economy seats.
  • 155 Economy seats.

This is the first of 13 A350-1000s that the airline has on order, on top of 18 A350-900s also.

In a statement, Airbus said the following on the delivery of the first aircraft to Japan Airlines:

“JAL’s A350-1000 cabin has been designed to make passengers immerse in the elegance of Japanese aesthetics and tranquillity.”

“Meanwhile, a serene ambiance highlights the beauty of Japan. The cabin’s stylish interior is tailored to a high quality, high comfort passenger experience which echoes JAL’s renowned service.”

Japan Airlines flight JL8102 left the factory in Toulouse on December 14 and proceeded to it’s new home of Tokyo Haneda.

Japan Airlines plans to begin introducing its new Airbus A350-1000 International aircraft on the Tokyo Haneda – New York JFK route (JL006/JL005) starting from January 24, 2024.
