IIT Delhi bags 480 full-time job offers on day 1 of 2024 placement season

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi’s Class of 2024 has bagged 480 full-time job offers, including pre-placement offers, with around 450 unique selections by the end of Day 1 of the placement season on Friday. Many students also received multiple job offers.

Like many old IITs, the ongoing placement season at IIT Delhi for the academic year 2023-24 kicked off on December 1 and will continue till May for full-time hiring of undergraduate and postgraduate students.

This year, hiring is being conducted in both physical and virtual modes depending on the recruiter’s convenience, according to a statement issued by IIT Delhi.

More than 360 national and international companies have registered for the hiring process, offering more than 660 job profiles across multiple sectors so far, according to the institute.

“The Office of Career Services at IIT Delhi is working to maximize placement of the students who avail our services. We have a healthy mix and line up of companies across sectors to cater to the varied needs and aspirations of our student body,” said R. Ayothiraman, professor incharge, office of career services, IIT Delhi.

Top recruiters on Day 1 in terms of the number of students offered include Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, and Texas Instruments.Around 25 students have received international job offers at locations such as Hong Kong, Japan, the Netherlands, Singapore, South Korea, the UK and the US.“The talent pool is raring to contribute to the growth of organisations they join. We look forward to welcoming all recruiters who believe in the potential of our talent pool,” said Anishya O. Madan, industrial liaison officer, office of career services, IIT Delhi.

Meanwhile, IIT Roorkee saw 31 companies offer multiple profiles till Saturday evening. With this, a total of 62 companies have visited the campus since the start of placements on December 1. Companies who made job offers on Day 2 include Accenture, Barclays, Clear (ClearTax), DCM Shriram, Deutsche Bank, Flipkart Internet Pvt. Ltd, Groww, Hilabs, ICICI Lombard, Jaguar Land Rover, Javis, Mastercard, according to a statement shared by the institute.

Others include Media.net, Meesho, Micron Technologies, Navi Technologies Ltd, Ola, Qualcomm, Samsung Research Institute Bangalore, Samsung Semiconductor, Schlumberger Software, Schneider Electric, Sprinklr, ThoughtSpot, VVF, Zenon, Zepto, according to the IIT.

A total of 440 offers including pre-placement offers were received till Day 2.
